Additionally, their AWS infrastructure costs soared to ₹3–4 lakhs per month, primarily due to high data transfer and server expenses.

Our Solution: Optimizing Website Performance with AWS CloudFront

1. Architectural Restructuring

         The JIT Global Infosystems team restructured the client’s WordPress-based architecture by segregating workloads efficiently:

• Static content offloading to Amazon S3
  • Images, CSS, JavaScript, and other static files were moved from EC2 to Amazon S3.
  • This reduced CPU, RAM, and disk usage on EC2 instances.
• Efficient Content Management
  • Integrated a WordPress plugin to automatically sync new content to Amazon S3.
• Optimized EC2 Instance Utilization
  • WordPress and application logic remained on EC2.
  • Database was already on Amazon RDS.

2. Implementing AWS CloudFront for CDN Optimization

         To further reduce latency and improve global content delivery, JIT Global Infosystems deployed AWS CloudFront:

  • Cached website content across AWS edge locations worldwide, ensuring faster access for users.

  • First 1TB of data transfer is free with CloudFront, significantly cutting AWS outbound costs.

  • Requests were automatically served from the nearest AWS edge location, eliminating long-distance data fetches.
• Dynamic and Static Content Optimization:
  • Cached all static assets while keeping dynamic content fresh.

3. Enhancing Security with AWS WAF

         To mitigate bot traffic and unauthorized access, JIT Global Infosystems implemented AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF):

• Blocked bot traffic, reducing unnecessary server load.
• Enhanced security compliance for the client’s regulatory needs.
• Reduced actual data transfer to 2–3TB, optimizing bandwidth costs.
